Dushinka Nelson
Attorney‐at‐Law
Having obtained an LL.B (Hons) from the University of London, and upon completion of a period of legal apprenticeship under Dr. Asanga Gunawansa, Mr. Dushinka Nelson was called to the Bar as an Attorney-at -Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2015.
Mr. Nelson holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. Mr. Nelson has also completed a Diploma in Human Rights with the Institute of Human Rights, Sri Lanka, a Diploma in Journalism with the University of Colombo and a Diploma in International Relations with the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies.
Prior to taking oaths as an Attorney-at-Law, Mr. Nelson completed an internship at the Ministry of Justice of Sri Lanka. Mr. Nelson also functions in the capacity of an alternate member on behalf of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka, to the National Labour Advisory Council 2022.
Swasha Fernando Aluwihare
Attorney‐at‐Law
Ms. Swasha Fernando Aluwihare holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of London (2014) and, following a period of legal apprenticeship at the Attorney General’s Department, was called to the Bar as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2018.
Ms. Fernando Aluwihare also holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colombo, specializing in English Language, Linguistics, and Cultural Studies, with additional studies in Sociology and International Relations; an LL.M in International Commercial Law, awarded with Distinction by the University of Warwick; and a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Democratization from the University of Colombo.
Ms. Fernando Aluwihare served as State Counsel at the Attorney General’s Department from 2018 to 2022, before joining Colombo Law Alliance, where she now practices as Legal Counsel. She has over eight years of legal experience spanning both the public and private bar.
Shenella Fonseka

Having obtained an LL.B. (Hons) from the University of London and completed a period of legal apprenticeship under Dr. Asanga Gunawansa, PC, Shenella Fonseka was called to the Bar as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2019.
Ms. Fonseka was conferred an LL.M. in Commercial Law by the University of Colombo in 2024 and also obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree, specialising in English Language and Linguistics, from the University of Colombo in 2020, where she also studied Economics and International Relations. She also holds a Diploma in Law from the University of London (2015), a Certificate in Commercial Arbitration from the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (2020), and a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from the Institute for the Development of Commercial Law and Practice in Sri Lanka (2020).
Ms. Fonseka is a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Building Economics, University of Moratuwa, the National Institute of Labour Studies, and the Royal Institute of Colombo, where she lectures on Construction Law, Dispute Resolution, Public Procurement, and International Commercial Arbitration. In 2023, she was also appointed as a part-time Legal Consultant to the National Procurement Commission of Sri Lanka.
Keshika Kamalaneson

Having obtained an LL.B (Hons) from the University of London, and upon completion of a period of legal apprenticeship at D L & F De Saram, Keshika Kamalaneson was called to the Bar as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2019.
Ms. Kamalaneson was conferred an LL.M in Commercial Law by the University of Colombo in 2024. She also holds a Diploma in Law from the University of London (2013) and she is following a Diploma Course in Diplomacy and World Affairs at the Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training Institute.
Jithen de Silva
Attorney‐at‐Law
Having obtained a LL.B (Hons) from the University of London and upon completion of a period of legal apprenticeship at the Attorney General’s Department of Sri Lanka, Mr. Jithen de Silva was called to the Bar as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2019.
Mr. de Silva was conferred an LL.M. in Commercial Law by the University of Colombo in 2024. He also completed a certificate course Patent Law and Global Public Health from the Harvard Law School and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), a certificate course in Intellectual Property Law from the Institute for the Development of Commercial Law and Practice, and a certificate course in Commercial Arbitration from the Bar Association of Sri Lanka.
In addition to being a practicing Legal Counsel, with focus in Appellate, Writ and Fundamental Rights matters, Mr. de Silva provides consultancy in Intellectual Property Law, with focus on Innovation, Product Development and Licensing.
Christina Peiris
Attorney‐at‐Law
Having obtained an LL.B (Hons) from the University of London, and upon completion of a period of legal apprenticeship under the guidance of Dr. Asanga Gunawansa, PC and Mr. Dilshan Jayasuriya, Christina Peiris was called to the Bar as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2020.
Ms. Peiris was conferred an LL.M. in Commercial Law by the University of Colombo in 2024. Ms. Peiris is also an Advocate Prime Dispute Member, Prime Disputes and she holds a Certificate in Commercial Arbitration from the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (2020) and a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from the Institute for the Development of Commercial Law and Practice in Sri Lanka (2020).
Ms. Peiris has also attended an Arbitration Award Writing Workshop conducted by the Commercial Law Development Program, U. S. Department of Commerce and CCC-ICLP ADR Centre, Sri Lanka. Apart from her legal practice, Ms. Peiris has participated as an Arbitrator in the MCB International Commercial Arbitration National Competition, organised by the Moot Court Bench in partnership with the US Department of Commerce, CLDP as well as in the H V Perera QC Memorial International Moot Competition (the Victor’s Moot), organised by Sri Lanka Law College.
Nikita Gomez
Attorney-at-Law
Having obtained an LL.B from the University of Colombo and upon completion of a period of legal apprenticeship at the Attorney General’s Department under the guidance of Mr. Sanjay Rajaratnam (then Acting Solicitor General), Nikita Gomez was called to the Bar as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2021.
Ms. Gomez has also completed a certificate course in International Relations from BCIS (2015) and a Certificate Course in Legal Drafting from the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (2021). She was also the Directress of Public Relations of the Faculty Rotaract Club and a member of the Law Student’s Association of Sri Lanka. Additionally, she has contributed to several academic and legal journals. Ms. Gomez is currently reading for her Master of Laws degree specializing in Commercial and Company Law at the University of Colombo.
Outside her legal practice, she is a content writer for Pulse.lk and has also completed a Certificate Course in German Language at the Goethe Institute.
Navindra Fonseka

Having obtained an LL.B (Hons) from the University of London and, upon completion of his legal apprenticeship under the guidance of Dr. Asanga Gunawansa, PC and Mr. Dilshan Jayasuriya, Navindra Fonseka was called to the Bar as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2022.
Mr. Fonseka completed a Certificate Course in Commercial Law conducted by the Institute for the Development of Commercial Law and Practice (Sri Lanka), in 2023.
As part of his commitment to social justice, Mr. Fonseka undertakes legal work in collaboration with organizations supporting victims of domestic violence and child abuse, contributing his legal expertise to initiatives aimed at protecting vulnerable individuals and promoting access to justice.
Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Fonseka is the Co-Founder of Big Heart Community, an organization dedicated to advancing education, disability rights, humanitarian assistance, and other community-focused initiatives in Sri Lanka. He also served as Curator of the Global Shapers Community – Colombo Hub for the 2024–2025 term, the youth network of the World Economic Forum. During his tenure, he was involved in and led a number of projects focusing on disability rights, child rights, education, peace building, and humanitarian aid. Through Big Heart Community, Mr. Fonseka continues to facilitate and support a range of initiatives across Sri Lanka, particularly in the areas of education, disability rights, and humanitarian assistance. He also conducts workshops for university students on capacity building, career development, and professional guidance.
Anuki Hewamallika

Having obtained an L.L.B (Hons) from the University of London and upon completion of a period of legal apprenticeship under the guidance of Dr. Asanga Gunawansa, PC and Mr. Dilshan Jayasuriya, Anuki Hewamallika was called to the Bar as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2024.
Ms. Hewamallika holds a Certificate in Commercial Arbitration from the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (2025). Prior to working at Colombo Law Alliance, Ms. Hewamallika worked as a Legal Intern under the guidance of Mrs. Charuni Nanayakkara Attroney-at-Law at C.G.A Associates. She also worked as a customer service representative at DHL and British Council Colombo and later as a management trainee at Gamma Interpharm (Pvt) Ltd.
Ramith Siriwardana

Having obtained a LL.B (Hons) from the University of London and upon completion of a period of legal apprenticeship under the guidance of Dr. Asanga Gunawansa, PC and Mr. Dilshan Jayasuriya, Ramith Siriwardana was called to the Bar as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2024.
Mr. Siriwardana is also a qualified Notary Public (2026) and holds a Certificate in Forensic Science and Evidence from the Royal Institute of Colombo (2021).
Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Siriwardana is a Scrabble Coach at Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo 08, and serves as a Scrabble Tournament organizer for the Sri Lanka Scrabble League. He has also represented the Royal Institute of Colombo and Sri Lanka Law College in International Moot Court Competitions in the fields of Trade Law and Public International Law.
Chayangi Kannangara

Having obtained an LL.B from General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, and upon the completion of a period of legal apprenticeship under the guidance of Dr. Asanga Gunawansa, PC and Mr. Dilshan Jayasuriya, Chayangi Kannangara was called to the Bar as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2025.
Ms. Kannangara holds a Master’s Degree in Human Rights from the University of Colombo (2024). She also holds a Certificate in Legal Drafting and Commercial Arbitration from the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (2025), as well as a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from the Institute for the Development of Commercial Law and Practice (ICLP) (2020). She is currently reading for a Diploma in Commercial Arbitration from ICLP.
She was also a Community Service Director and thereafter Editor of the Rotaract Club of KDU and an active member of the Global Shapers Community – Colombo Hub, having served as the Secretary for the year 2024-2025. Additionally, she received the Hon. Justice Fernando Memorial Research Prize in 2022 and has contributed to several legal journals.
Outside of her legal practice, Ms. Kannangara has pursued studies in Speech and Drama, having completed graded examinations from both the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) and Trinity College London. She is presently working towards her Associate (ATCL) qualification from Trinity College London.
Sayuru Kariyawasam

Upon completion of a period of legal apprenticeship under the guidance of Dr. Asanga Gunawansa, PC and Mr. Dilshan Jayasuriya, Sayuru Kariyawasam was called to the Bar as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2025.
Mr. Kariyawasam has participated in National and International Moot Courts in the fields of International Commercial Arbitration and Administrative Law and has assessed Moot Courts in the fields of International Commercial Arbitration, Constitutional Law and International Commercial Mediation.
Outside his legal practice, Mr. Kariyawasam functions as a Freelance Master of Ceremonies, Voiceover Artist and Event Host. He has obtained a Licentiate Degree from the University of West London (LLCM) and an Associate’s Degree from Trinity College London (ATCL). He has also completed a Certificate Course in the German Language from the Goethe Institute of Colombo.
Shemaiah Ratnayake

Having obtained an LL.B (Hons) from the University of London and upon completion of a period of legal apprenticeship under the guidance of Dr. Asanga Gunawansa, PC and Mr. Dilshan Jayasuriya, Shemaiah Ratnayake was called to the Bar as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2026.
Ms. Ratnayake is a lecturer in Family Law at the Royal Institute of Colombo, where she teaches the University of London LL.B (Hons) programme. She has been involved in legal education and academic mentoring, with particular emphasis on legal research, analytical skills and the practical application of legal principles.
Outside her legal and academic work, Ms. Ratnayake has maintained a longstanding involvement in theatre and the performing arts and has performed under notable directors including Indu Dharmasena and Jerome L. De Silva with the Workshop Players.
