Four new advisors have been appointed to the Ministry of Defence with effect from Monday (07 January 2019). Accordingly, Mr. Dilshan Jayasuriya received his letter of appointment from the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Mr. Hemasiri Fernando during a brief ceremony at the Ministry, on Tuesday.

The Bar Association of Sri Lanka organized the inaugural National Sustainable Development Law Symposium, which was held on the 21st of July 2026 at the Hilton Hotel in Colombo. The keynote speaker for the event was Supreme Court Justice A. H. M. D. Nawaz. There were four sessions and Dr. Asanga Gunawansa PC presented at the third session, on the topic of ‘Sustainable Finance and ESG Due Diligence in Investments: Sri Lanka and CIFC as a Hub for the Region’.
