Four new advisors have been appointed to the Ministry of Defence with effect from Monday (07 January 2019). Accordingly, Mr. Dilshan Jayasuriya received his letter of appointment from the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Mr. Hemasiri Fernando during a brief ceremony at the Ministry, on Tuesday.

The Law Association for Asia and the Pacific organized the 39th LAWASIA Conference from 14th September 2026 to 16th September 2026, where Dr. Asanga Gunawansa presented a paper on ‘Enforcement of Environmental Laws Across the Asia-Pacific Region’. The presentation provided insight into the evolving legal and institutional frameworks for environmental enforcement across the region, drawing on comparative experience and highlighting emerging challenges and opportunities for effective implementation.
