Four new advisors have been appointed to the Ministry of Defence with effect from Monday (07 January 2019). Accordingly, Mr. Dilshan Jayasuriya received his letter of appointment from the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Mr. Hemasiri Fernando during a brief ceremony at the Ministry, on Tuesday.

Hybrid Webinar on Institutional Arbitration & Commercial Mediation in the SAARC Region

The Overseas Relations Committee of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka organized a hybrid webinar on Institutional Arbitration & Commercial Mediation in the SAARC Region. The keynote speaker for the event was Prof. Gary Born, who is the Chair of the International Arbitration Group at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP.

The other Panelists included Mr. Inbavijayan Veeraraghavan (B.L., PAP-KFCRI, FICA, FPIArb, FAIADR, FCIArb (U.K)), Partner, Kove Global LLP, Mr. Chanaka De Silva, PC, Senior Partner – Nithya Partners, Mr. Ganesh Chandru, Partner – Dua Associates, New Delhi / Chennai, and Mr. Vyapak Desai, Lead – International Disputes & Investigations, Nishith Desai Associates.
The event was moderated by Dr. Asanga Gunawansa.
